This policy explains how ClaimTheMoon handles personal information.
The organisation responsible for your information you find in terms of services
Information we collect
Depending on how you use ClaimTheMoon, we collect:
-
Account information, such as your email address, display name and securely stored login credentials.
-
Content you provide, including property names, images, logos, signs and links.
-
Purchase records, subscription information, payment status, refunds and resale transactions.
-
Technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details and security logs.
-
Activity information, such as property visits, reactions and interactions with signs or links.
-
Messages you send to support.
Information comes from you, your use of the website and service providers such as Stripe that confirm payments or account status.
Information visible to other people
Your display name and content you publish on a property may be publicly visible. Public content can be copied, shared or indexed by other services.
Property owners may receive aggregate activity statistics. These statistics do not provide visitors’ account email addresses.
Please avoid publishing private information that you do not want others to see.
How and why we use information
We use account, purchase and property information to provide the services you request and fulfil our contract with you.
We use relevant technical information to protect accounts, prevent fraud and maintain the service. Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are operating a secure, reliable platform and resolving misuse or disputes.
We retain and use information where necessary to meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
Optional analytics and marketing communications rely on consent where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
We need certain information to create an account, process payment or arrange a payout. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to offer that feature.
Payments and payouts
Stripe processes payments and, where available, seller payouts.
We receive transaction references, payment status and information needed to manage purchases. ClaimTheMoon does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Stripe may collect billing, identity and bank information directly, including information required for fraud prevention and legal checks. Its handling of that information is explained in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Service providers and artificial intelligence
We share relevant information with providers that help us host the website, send service emails, process payments and maintain security.
Our hosting and email providers are Kinsta and Websupport.
When enabled, Ada’s AI planning uses OpenAI to process limited simulation information, such as resource levels, business activity and property identifiers. The planner is not provided with account passwords or full payment-card details.
We do not use Ada to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
We may also disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Advertising and sale of information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Advertising on virtual properties is the sale of advertising space. It does not give advertisers access to your private account information.
Following an advertiser’s link takes you to another website, whose privacy practices may differ from ours.
International processing
Our providers process information in Europe.
Where a transfer requires safeguards under applicable privacy law, we use the relevant approved arrangements, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applying to your data.
How long we keep information
We keep account and property information for as long as needed to provide your account and associated services.
Payment and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable law. Support, security and dispute records are retained according to the purpose of the record, any unresolved issue and relevant legal time limits.
We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. Some information may remain in protected backups until those backups are replaced.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restrictions on its use.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to the use of your information for direct marketing.
You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.
Residents of California and other US states may have additional rights, including rights concerning the sale or sharing of information, targeted advertising, certain sensitive information and appeals against denied requests. These rights apply where the relevant law covers our processing.
To make a request, email us. An authorised representative may contact us where permitted. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or their authority.
We respond within applicable legal deadlines and do not penalise you for exercising your rights. If we cannot fulfil a request, we explain why and describe any available appeal.
You may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live or work. UK residents can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office; EU/EEA residents can contact their national data protection authority.
Children
Accounts and purchases are intended for adults aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has provided personal information without an appropriate basis, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when our practices change and provide additional notice where required.
